Cliff’s a genius at packing a car. A challenge for a month-long journey. But he got all the essentials stowed!

Hurricane Helene road repairs are still a problem. Our route had more than a few “one lane only” passages (those are the wiggly lines on the map below!) which added about 1 1/2 hours to our trip. But we didn’t really have a schedule. No problem.

We had dinner at the Old Talbott Tavern which was built in 1779 on Bardstown’s Court Square. Daniel Boone, Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln stayed at the inn. It’s the oldest western stagecoast top in America. Dinner was terrific — chicken souvlaki for me and country fried steak for Cliff. We both left room (barely) for bread pudding dessert.

I love the case of wine, in the trunk😋! You’re my kind of traveler!
First things first, right?
