The main reason for our cross-country journey was to see granddaughters Addison (aka Addi) and Charlotte (never Charlotte — always Charlie!) and parents Clay and Becky, of course, We picked Lompoc as our 6-hour drive stopover but detoured to San Luis Obispo for dinner.
We had a great dinner at Red Luna. San Luis Obispo is a typical college town — young, full of shops, restaurants and bars. Our dinner was perfect.
A great view…

Great attitude…..so-so wine:-)

The drive was mostly gorgeous. Redwoods for miles and miles (along the VERY windy route 128) to start, followed by vineyards and other agriculture (apples! berries! corn! beans? cabbage?) Then ever wider highways and lots of traffic. Lots and lots of traffic.
